About Cosmos
This Mexico native is one of the simplest flowers to grow, and they are suitable for all zones. Since they reseed themselves easily, they make perfect additions to wildflower meadows or naturalized areas. Children will love planting their cosmos seeds and watching them grow taller than they are!
When to Plant Cosmos Seeds
Plant Cosmos in the Spring when the soil can be worked.
Where to Plant Cosmos Seeds
Sow your Cosmos seeds in the full sun to partial shade. As cosmos flowers are very adaptable, they can thrive in average to poor soil quality, and they are tolerant to dry conditions.
How to Plant Cosmos Seeds
Scatter cosmos seeds outdoors after there is no longer a danger for frost. Seeds can be covered ¼ inch since they do not need light to germinate. Germination will usually occur in just 3 to 5 days, but it can take up to 2 weeks.
How to Care for Cosmos
Once started, cosmoses require virtually no attention. You can add a general purpose fertilizer once or twice a season. If a plant grows very tall and is not planted in a wind protected area, it may require staking. If you want blooms all summer long, Deadhead the old blooms.

I am Crazy for this Cosmos See Mix
I live in Jamestown, Colorado 7,500 feet, and have a beautiful display of Cosmos still Blooming in October. They have created a decorative fence of flowers up to 6 feet tall.

Wonderful!
I ordered 1/4 and direct sowed about 1/4 of the bag. I had forgot about them so they were sowed in late June. It's now September and they are all so tall and have been blooming for at least 4 weeks. Would have so many more if when they were coming up my husband didn't think they were weeds and pulled many of them LOL. Just purchased a pound of these for next year!

Wow!
We just turned an sand arena into a garden and there was so much empty space there was no way I could fill it with plants. Bought these seeds (along with some others) and spread with my kids in the beds. It is now a cosmo jungle! I'm so happy with it since it otherwise would have been mostly empty this year. Can't believe how many have sprouted and how big they are.

Spectacular Show of Color

Very prolific seeds
It's really a bit early to review the cosmos seeds but they have taken very well. I bought 1/2 pound and am filling in all bare spots with them. Thousands of seeds are now 8-12 inches high and very strong and healthy despite drenching and heavy downpours. I had enuf seeds so where there is a bare spot still I can sow more. I look forward to the blossoms.
